In the spring I planted several kitchen herbs and tomatoes. The tomatoes turned out to be teetsy tiny cherry tomatoes, probably the 'original' cherry tomato because they really are as big as a cherry and no bigger!!
Besides tomatoes (yes, 4....), I harvested lemon grass, basil, and parsley. I already made several batches of very nice pesto and intend to make one or two more tonight. The herbs are all in pots and this year we've frequent rains (rather than several enormous downpours that flood the state), and it has helped. I also seem to remember to water more often now that the herbs are parked in pretty blue pots instead of unsightly black plastic store pots.
